Happy 2019 Dearest Dogwood Family,
Wow, what a year it has been! We cannot believe we are closing out 2018 already!!
Dogwood Cottage will officially be in its 10th year, yes, that’s right a whole decade! The saying, “Time flies when you are havin’ fun!”, couldn’t be any closer to the truth!
If you just joined the Dogwood family- we welcome you and your fur baby and look forward to connecting and engaging with you throughout the year(s)! If you’ve been with us for several months, even years, we cannot thank you enough for your continued trust and loyalty in us, and for every day making us push ourselves to be better and better. We are truly humbled and grateful for all of our members of the Dogwood Cottage community- without all the incredibly dedicated clientele and staff, we would not still be here today growing and just as committed, if not more so, to our core values and mission. Even after our 2018 Best of Boston Award- for the best dog boarding facility in all of the state- you can rest assured that this only promulgated us to be EVEN BETTER THAN THE BEST AND THE REST!
A Year In Reflection
We were certainly non-stop in and around our Dogwood community- both on-site, around the town, and on social media!
The Dogwood Community:
Heidi and Siobhan may have been a bit ambitious in their events calendar but were determined and committed to increase community involvement and the whole team stepped up to the challenge; from the prep, to the execution and ultimately the success and turn out!!

And on and on and on…….
Improved Client Communication:
Boarding Survey – Your feedback is so critical and appreciated, so we created this survey that is delivered to all who board with us to fill out after their stay, informing us of how we did and where could improve!
Boarding Postcards – Mailed home after five days of stay and written from your fur baby’s perspective while boarding with us; like a note home from child away at camp
Boarding Text Update – Sent every three days, letting you know how your pup is settling in!
Boarding Exit Report Card – relaying how your pup did while at the Cottage while you were away
Pawgress Reports – With great results and success, our attendants prepared Pawgress Reports to let you know how your puppy was doing while in our daycare!
Pup Parent/Pack Leader Conferences – Heidi and Lindsey, opened their office doors to give everyone an opportunity to ask questions or get further clarification on their reports.
New Client Welcome Pack – We created more in depth and intensive registration forms, regulations and processes to ensure the very best introduction for new dogs to the Dogwood family. Your pup’s first time with us is so crucial and something we take very seriously. Your pups safety and the safety of the pack is always top priority.
Social – We have spotlighted all of our incredible staff team members on social media and we are beyond proud and excited to share the love and talents they provide to your pup every single day!
We are so appreciative and proud of our Dogwood Team; we could not make our vision a reality without them.
A special shout out to our long-standing team members:
Lisa, our overnight attendant, who has been caring and sleeping with your pups for over seven and a half years.
Shannon who has done almost everything with us for more than four years, but mostly now drives our vehicles to and from Boston, as well as locally, and safely picks up and drops off your pup to and from Dogwood every week day.
Jen Boucher, who for over three and a half years has cared for your pups over the weekends.
Tammy, who for almost now three years, has worked passionately with your pups while in daycare.
Siobhan who has… well… done mostly everything with us for almost two years and was just promoted to the front desk!
Dani, who has now for one year almost to the date been our administrator and scheduler and kept all of our offices in order.
The Future is Bright!:
We have brought in the stupendous and extremely talented Lisa, as head groomer; trust us when we say, they are incredibly hard to come by! She owned and operated two successful grooming businesses in California, before relocating to the Northeast with her Fiance and son.
We also have, for the first time, hired a Manager! We are so excited to introduce Maddie who has started our management training program. She is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a B.S. in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources. She has extensive corporate HR experience, in addition to her passion for canine rehabilitation and year long experience working for Wag, she couldn’t be more perfect of a fit!
Please stay tuned! We are moving into the new year with a lot of new, fun and exciting things on the horizon! And, we cannot wait to share our plans with you in the near future!
We remain mindful and eternally grateful for your continued commitment to the Dogwood Family and we will tirelessly remain in pursuit of providing the utmost care for you and your pup!
